BungoBox expands to Jacksonville
Orlando, Fla. – (May 19, 2011) – BungoBox, an Orlando-based company that rents and delivers plastic moving boxes, added a new franchise today. The new franchise, located in Jacksonville and servicing Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, is the company’s fifth franchise announced in the past 2 1/2 months. Additional franchises are expected to be awarded in the coming months.
The innovative startup company, founded in May 2009, rents the reusable plastic boxes to save consumers time and money over traditional moving methods. The concept is simple: A BungoBox truck delivers the stackable moving boxes (a large box of about 2.5 cubic feet rents for $1.75 a week) to a customers’ doorstep. Once they’ve been unpacked, BungoBox picks them up at the new residence.

Franchise owners Kevin Booth, Bob Booth and Ron Brown purchased the exclusive rights to the Jacksonville market. They will set up shop in the Mandarin area and expect operations to begin in July.
The three businessmen are no strangers to running a successful operation. Bob and Ron are co-owners of Atlantic Marble and Atlantic Custom Builders. Kevin owns Vacuum Depot, which has been serving the greater Jacksonville area since 1976.
“We realize there is a need for an alternative to cardboard, so BungoBox is a perfect fit for our way of thinking,“ Kevin Booth says. “BungoBox is growing rapidly, and we wanted to get in at the beginning.”
The Orlando-based company plans to award five more U.S.-based franchises before the end of the year.
