The concept is simple: A BungoBox truck delivers the stackable moving boxes (a large box of about 2.5 cubic feet rents for $3.25 a week) to a customers’ doorstep. Once they’ve been unpacked, BungoBox picks them up at the new residence.

“We are on track to open 20 to 40 franchise locations across Canada over the next two years,” says Ray McFadgen, one of the owners of BungoBox Canada. “In the last few weeks, we have had serious interest from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and parts of Quebec.

“To celebrate the grand opening of our first location, we are giving away an iPad2 to the person who submits the worst moving story to our Facebook contest,” McFadgen says. “I am sure our BungoBox service could have prevented many of these moving nightmares.”

For details about the contest, visit the BungoBox Canada Facebook page. Story submissions can be sent to bungoboxcanada@gmail.com. Contest ends Aug. 25. Eco-friendly startup company expands to Atlanta

Orlando, Fla. – (June 3, 2011) – BungoBox, an Orlando-based company that rents and delivers plastic moving boxes, announced its latest franchise today. It will be located in Atlanta, marking the company’s sixth franchise announced since late February.

The innovative startup company, founded in May 2009, rents the reusable plastic boxes to save consumers time and money over traditional moving methods. The concept is simple: A BungoBox truck delivers the stackable moving boxes (a large box of about 3.0 cubic feet rents for $1.75 a week) to a customers’ doorstep. Once they’ve been unpacked, BungoBox picks them up at the new residence.

“We are thrilled to be breaking into the Atlanta market,” says Tom Cannon, BungoBox co-founder and CEO. “Our growth in the Southeast has been tremendous; it’s very gratifying to see our franchise network pick up this kind of momentum.”

Franchise owners and Atlanta residents, John and Lori Belton are currently looking for office space and expect operations to begin in late July. Previously, John was in the technical support industry and Lori was a contract and product line manager. The couple also owned a health food store for several years.

“We wanted to be part of this niche idea that is going to sweep the nation in the moving and storage business,” John Belton says. “It is exciting to be a part of a grassroots effort to change the way businesses and consumers perceive the moving experience and to make BungoBox ‘the name’ in the reusable box market.”

The Orlando-based company plans to award several more U.S.-based franchises before the end of the year. The new franchise, located in Atlanta, is one of several Atlanta territories for sale.

BungoBox Launches Franchise Option

Orlando, Fla. – (June 29, 2010) – BungoBox, a fast-growing Casselberry-based company created by cousins Tom and Bob Cannon, announces a franchise option, allowing the business to expand beyond Central Florida and across the nation.

BungoBox, founded in May 2009, rents reusable plastic boxes to save consumers time and money over traditional moving methods. The concept is simple: A BungoBox truck delivers the stackable moving boxes (a large box of about 2.5 cubic feet rents for $1.75 a week) to a customers’ doorstep. Once they’ve been unpacked, BungoBox picks them up at the new residence.

“Our mission is to change the landscape of moving,” says Cannon, co-founder and CEO of BungoBox. “Part of that plan includes expanding our operations by opening 20 to 50 franchise locations in the next three to five years as part of a steady and strategic growth strategy.” "We are currently reviewing 50 franchise applications,” says Cannon. “We’ve had an overwhelming amount of interest from the get-go, and we couldn’t be happier about our expansion efforts.”

Cannon says he’s seen the rise in rental requests on the commercial side, as well as, the residential side. Customer Greg Dalglish can see why. “It just made more sense to use a reusable, environmentally conscious product over the alternative,” says Dalglish, who used BungoBox products when he moved from Columbia, S.C., to Orlando last year. Better yet, he was pleasantly surprised that the price to rent BungoBoxes, which include large, extra large and wardrobe-size boxes, was actually less than the cost of cardboard boxes.

"We designed our concept from the very beginning with franchising in mind,” says Cannon. “Every aspect was carefully implemented to ensure maximum efficiencies and profitability for our franchisees."

The new corporate store is fully operational and being led by regional manager Frank Policy. "I’m very pleased to be a part of this innovative concept," said Policy. "We offer a product that is not only earth friendly, but convenient and cost effective, too. It resonates extremely well with today’s consumers.”

In addition to this expansion effort, BungoBox will launch a national franchise program later this year to answer growing consumer demand for a time-saving and less expensive method of moving. The first franchises will likely be in Atlanta later this year.

BungoBox Opens its Doors and Reinvents the Moving Process

Orlando, Fla. – (January 5, 2010) – BungoBox, a company which rents reusable plastic boxes to save consumers time and money over traditional moving methods, recently opened in Casselberry and is now serving the entire Central Florida area.

The concept is simple. A BungoBox truck delivers the stackable moving boxes (a large box of about 2.5 cubic feet rents for $1.75 a week) to a customers’ doorstep. Once they’ve been unpacked, BungoBox picks them up at the new residence.

The startup company’s eco-friendly idea is proving to be popular in both the commercial and residential markets. “We are rethinking the traditional moving process,” says Bob Cannon, co-founder of BungoBox. “If you think about it, the way Americans moved hasn’t changed a whole lot in the past few hundred years. We toss out a lot of moving supplies, like bubble wrap, Styrofoam and, of course, cardboard. Let’s face it: Only about half of the cardboard that Americans discard actually gets recycled.”

All those supplies really add up. In fact, Americans spend approximately $10 billion on moving and packing services and products annually, according to the American Moving and Storage Association. “By using an alternative to cardboard boxes, we can help reduce the burden on consumers’ pocketbooks and reduce waste at the same time,” says Cannon. “It’s a win-win.”

Overall, the innovative company offers five unique products including:
BungoBox -- Stackable boxes (large or extra large) made of durable, recyclable plastic
BungoWrap -- 100 percent recycled, biodegradable paper for wrapping fragile items
BungoWardrobes -- Boxes with room to hang garments and keep them wrinkle-free
BungoWheels -- A custom-made dolly that makes transporting BungoBoxes easy
BungoZips -- Extra-strong zip tiesBungoLabels

“When you reuse cardboard boxes, they typically last for about four moves,” says Cannon. On the other hand, the stronger, more durable boxes that BungoBox rents can be reused several hundred times. After that, they are recycled and made into new boxes.

About BungoBox:
BungoBox is an innovative company that is transforming the traditional moving process. Committed to helping consumers save time and money with an eco-friendly alternative to cardboard boxes, BungoBox serves Hillsborough, Lake, Miami-Dade, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Seminole and Volusia counties.
